The four events include a night run and a New Year’s Eve countdown to welcome in 2024 in Phuket Town, officials explained at a press conference held yesterday (Dec 11) at Phuket City Municipality Office.
The four separate events will not only promote Phuket as an attractive tourist destination but will also continue to promote the ongoing campaign of the importance of exercise to enhancing residents’ health and fitness, Saroj Angkanapilas, Mayor of Phuket City said.
The first of the four events is the ‘Discover Phuket New Year Count Down 2024’, scheduled to be held on New Year’s Eve (Dec 31) into Jan 1, 2024 at the Standard Chartered Bank intersection in Old Phuket Town.
The ‘Discover Phuket Night Run’ will take place on Feb 24 at Mangkorn Plaza, an event to “contest and conserve amulets from 14 southern provinces” will take place at the 4,000-seat gymnasium building at Saphan Hin Sports Center between Mar 1-3 and the 15th Phuket Provincial Fishing Competition is scheduled to take place between Mar 8-10 at Plai Laem, Saphan Hin.
The MoU was signed in partnership with: Fam Phuket Property Company Limited; Andaman Phuket Pearl Running Club; Southern Amulet Preservation Club; and Phuket Fishing Sports Club.
Also in attendance at yesterday’s press conference were: Jaiphet Handatkarn, General Manager of Fam Phuket Property Company Limited; Thaweesak Suesad, President of the Phuket Andaman Pearl Running Club; Weeraphong Limpanich, President of the Southern Amulet Conservation Club; and Teerasak Tan Pan, advisor to the Phuket Fishing Sports Club.
