“It is with utter devastation that we announce the passing of our beloved Carole Anne Dux,” the family said. “We will forever be immensely proud to call her ours.”
A requiem mass will be held at St Joseph’s Church in Cherng Talay at 1pm on July 8, following a private cremation. Family members have invited friends and members of the public to attend the service and join them afterwards at Pepper’s Bar to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked mourners to consider donating to the Carole Dux Nursing Scholarship, established in her memory.
The announcement prompted an outpouring of tributes from friends, family and members of the wider community, many describing Mrs Dux as a warm, kind-hearted and unforgettable presence.
Rona R. Hosking offered her “deepest and sincerest condolences” to the Dux family, while Pauline Haldemann, writing from Lucerne, Switzerland, said the news had “shocked us to the core”.
“A dear dear friend who I shall miss but think of often with great fondness and admiration,” wrote Silvie Calder-Hickey.
Others remembered Mrs Dux for her humour, generosity and infectious personality.
Karen Alexander described her as “an incredibly funny and kind mate”, while Lucy Lyngø said she was “so warm and full of joy and laughter”.
Jasmin Kocur said Mrs Dux had been “such an incredible woman shaping so many childhoods”, adding that she would always be remembered for her “incredible laugh and kindness”.
Many messages also expressed support for husband John Dux and the wider Dux family during their loss.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for July 8 at St Joseph’s Church, Cherng Talay.
