Thung Tong police and Kusoldharm rescue volunteers arrived at the scene to find the body of Dithachat Insom, age 41, originally from Surat Thani.
Police believe Mr Dithachat was on his way from Patong to Mai Khao for his job working as a chef on a tourist boat when someone attacked him with a sharp weapon while he was riding his motorbike.
Police are investigating.
