The exercise will start at 6pm at the yet-be-complete Terminal 2 and move to the airport catering facility about a kilometre away.
Rescue teams will simulate their full co-ordinated response to an underwater earthquake hurtling a tsunami towards Phuket.
Police from Sakoo and Tah Chat Chai Police Stations as well as the Tourist Police will take part in the drill.
“We also have made announcements to inform passengers at the airport about the exercise,” a staffer at the airport told The Phuket News.
