Sakoo Police led by Lt Col Amnoy Chummuan arrested Ms Pathima Wongsoh when she was found to be in possession of the items at her rented home Baan Tha Maproa in Thepkasattri.
Police seized from Pathima a handbag, wallet, B37,000 in cash, an iPad, ATM cards and other personal items.
Lt Col Amnoy explained, “The arrest of Pathima came after a tour guide (who police declined to name) filed a report with us stating she had left her handbag in the restroom while at Phuket International Airport. When she returned to the toilet to retrieve the bag she found it wasn’t there so reported it to officials.
“Investigators traced the stolen iPad using its location tracker and found it was at a home in Thepkasattri. Police arrived at the rented home where the iPad was located to and found Pathima in possession of all the items,” he said.
Pathima was taken to Sakoo Police Station where she was to be charged with theft at the airport.
