New Zealand national Ian Kirk, 62, reported to Patong Police last Friday that he had parked his Honda Click 125 i motorbike in front of the Diamond Cliff Hotel on Phra Barami Rd at about 2pm. He came back at about 3pm to find his motorbike gone.
In his report to police, Mr Kirk reported that under the motorbike seat there was a Samsung mobile phone valued at about $1,200, three rings valued at about $15,000, a Longines watch valued at about $1,500, about B6,000 in cash and motorbike driver’s license.
Police continued their investigation, and finally managed to arrest the culprit, Yusob Khunsurin, 27, from Ranong, at the parking area of Sri Phuwanat Public Park in Wichit yesterday (Dec 14).
Police recovered the Honda Click 125i, the three gold rings and the Longines watch.
Police also recovered several other items stolen with the motorbike, and seized as evidence the clothes Yusob wore at the time when he stole the motorbike.
Among the items seized was an Infinix mobile phone Yusob bought with the stolen money.
Patong Police confirmed that Yusob was taken back to Patong Police Station and charged with theft.
