Emergency workers were notified about the fire in Soi Saiyuan 9 at about 9.30am this morning (Oct 20), Rawai Municipality Fire Department reported.
Several fire engines were dispatched to the scene, located between Saiyuan Rd and Wiset Rd, accessible only from Saiyuan Rd. Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to other buildings. No injuries were reported.
Pictures from the scene show that the fire started at the penthouse-styled upper level of a newly constructed residential building. Rawai Fire Department did not elaborate on whether the structure was damaged or if only the furniture and interior décor were destroyed by the fire.
No information was reported about the possible cause of the fire and the material losses incurred by the owner. According to the Department of Business Development’s (DBD) database, a property company uses the building as its registered address.
