The event, called ‘Tigers Ride for Father’, will start at the Ratchapatanusorn Monument in Baan Mon, at the bottom of the foothills at the back of Patong.
Cyclists will make their way around Patong, completing a circuit of 14.2km, before concluding their ride back at the monument.
Registration for the event begins at the Ratchapatanusorn Monument at 8:30am, with the cyclist heading off at 9am.
Further activities to commemorate the day will be held at the Wang Khi On Waterfall Learning Center nearby at 1pm.
The dress code for attending both events is a polite shirt of yellow tone, or members of volunteer organisations may wear their uniforms.
All government offices will be closed for the public holiday tomorrow as events will be held across the island to commemorate the birthday of the late, much-loved, King Bhumibol, who after his passing was attributed the title ‘King Bhumibol The Great’.
There is no ban on the sale of alcohol on the day, but police traditionally ask people to be respectful of the auspicious occasion.
