The SME ONE FEST helps small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) showcase their products during a three-day fair taking place at the beach front area commonly known as Dolphin Park in Patong, which started yesterday evening and runs until tomorrow.
The initiative is being organised by the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) together with the Thai SME Confederation Association and is expected to showcase over 300 independent vendors from Phuket and beyond.
A variety of products and goods will be showcased by local vendors such as agricultural goods (including plants, vegetables and fruits), fresh delicacies, seafood, handicraft products, general household items and clothes, including a range of commemorative costumes and souvenirs made by local village residents
There will be a range of discounted goods on offer at the festival and live entertainment and musical performances will take place this evening and tomorrow prior to the event officially closing.
The festival was officially opened yesterday by Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat, who was joined by: Theeraphong Chuaychu, Kathu District Chief; Chalermsak Maneesri, Mayor of Patong; Wirintra Papakityotphat, Chairwoman of the Phuket Tourism Industry Council; Rachan Chatsutthi from the OSMEP of Phuket; as well as selected representatives from public and private sector entities.
