The incident involving the three Middle Eastern tourists occurred on Bangla Rd at about 7:10am.

According to witnesses, the men had reportedly been drinking heavily.

An argument escalated into two of the men fighting, with the third trying to separate them. Eventually one of the men landed a heavy punch that knocked his “friend” unconscious, sending him collapsing onto the road.

A local resident, Mr Phisit, captured the chaotic scene on video, which showed the tourists’ friends unsuccessfully trying to break up the fight.

The tourists were eventually assisted by bystanders, who helped transport the injured man to Patong Hospital for treatment. The exact cause of the altercation is still unknown. Authorities have yet to comment on the situation.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old Indian national suffered an open wound after being struck on the forehead by a transgender woman wielding a mobile phone.

The incident occurred near Patong Police Station at about 6:30am.

The Indian man told police that he had met the woman, Athit Saengsuk, near Soi Bangla, and they later walked together to the Ko Daeng Seafood restaurant on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Rd.

The situation escalated into an argument, during which Athit struck the Indian man on the forehead with a mobile phone.

Pol Lt Wisanu Chumee of the Patong Police confirmed that witnesses saw the two arguing in front of the restaurant before the assault took place. The Indian man filed an official complaint with the police, and the investigation is ongoing, Pol Lt Wisanu said.

It is unclear what sparked the argument, but authorities are continuing to question witnesses and review evidence from the scene.
