Sunday’s crash, the second of its kind in two days last weekend, happened at 7:10pm when a tour bus with Nakhon Pathom plates was transporting the group of tourists back to their resort following a trip to Phang Nga and crashed into a roadside traffic barrier on Patong hill, near the entrance to Sea Pearl Villas. Lt Col Jongserm Precha, an investigator from Patong Police Station told The Phuket News yesterday (June 29) that the bus driver, 30-year-old Tritrong Chuthai had been found guilty of reckless driving and fined B1,000.

He added that all six of the Chinese tourists who had been treated for minor scrapes as a result of the crash had since left hospital, and that hospital expenses had been taken care of by the tour company.
