The entertainment will start at 6pm at the concert stage area on the beach near the end of Bangla Rd with the Miss Queen Patong 2023 contest.
DJ Urboy Ae will take to the stage from 8:30pm to 9:30pm, followed by DJ Tempo Boyz from 9:30pm to 10:20pm.
Crowd favourite JOB 2 DO will perform on stage from 10:20pm to 11:50pm.
The final 10 minutes of 2023 will feature the ‘Countdown Ceremony’, which will continue until 12:10am in the New Year and include the traditionally impressive fireworks display.
After the talking is done, DJ Smartsky will usher in the New Year by playing through to 1am.
The party is not expected to stop there, as the national government has extended the closing time for nightlife venues celebrating the New Year to 6am.
Meanwhile, Patong Municipality has also issued several warning notices, announcing a ban on individual fireworks, firecrackers and sky lanterns, and calling for people to not drink and drive.
“No fireworks of any kind or floating lanterns are allowed,” said one notice, warning that violators may face a fine of up to B60,000 or even up to three years in prison, or both.
People were urged to report violators by calling 191.
