The results of the raids by Phuket Provincial Police were announced yesterday (Nov 10), although specific dates of the arrests were not provided. After being apprehended, the arrested suspects were handed over to local police stations.
All raids were conducted under the order of Phuket Provincial Police commander Maj Gen Sinlert Sukhum and led by Phuket Provincial Police Crime Suppression Division chief Lt Col Phichit Thongto.
The results of the crackdown were given as follows and in the following order:
1. Mr Pramin (Fahas) Yayee and Ms Jenjira (Jane, or Nok) Yuangngam, both 27 years old, were arrested in Kamala with one methamphetamine pill (ya ba) and 25.49 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ya ice). The suspects were taken to Kamala Police Station and charged with category 1 drug possession with the intent to sell and category 1 drug use.
2. Mr Saran (Maseed) Satman, 25 years old, was arrested at Mueang Phuket Police station when he tested positive for drugs after being apprehended at an undisclosed place earlier. He was charged with category 1 drug use.
3. Mr Abdul (Dul) Jae, 24 years old, was arrested in the government housing project in Baan Liphon (Srisoonthorn) with 725 methamphetamine pills. The suspect was taken to Thalang Police Station and charged with category 1 drug possession with the intent to sell. Police also found that there was an outstanding warrant to arrest Mr Abdul on charges of supporting terrorism in Pattani.
4. Mr Witthaya (Wit) Fangkhongma, 39 years old, was arrested in the same government housing project in Baan Liphon. The suspect was found in possession of 6,000 ya ba pills. He was taken to Thalang Police Station and charged with category 1 drug possession with the intent to sell and category 1 drug use.
5. Mr Akbarkarn (Bas) Wongmanee, 25 years old, was the third suspec arrested in the aforementioned government housing project in Baan Liphon (Srisoonthorn). In his room police discovered 246,000 methamphetamine pills. Mr Akbarkarn was taken to Thalang Police Station and charged with category 1 drug possession with the intent to sell.
