The meeting was held yesterday (May 12) at the Royal Phuket City Hotel and focused on the findings of a preliminary legal study titled, ‘A Study of Problems and Limitations Obstacles to the Survival, Growth, and Competitiveness of SME Entrepreneurs in Thailand’s Soft Power Industry’.
Assoc Profs Supachet Chansasan and Wisuwat Chujanthorn presented the study findings before opening a forum for discussion among entrepreneurs, government officials and private-sector representatives.
According to OSMEP, the meeting aimed to collect opinions and recommendations on legal, regulatory and policy limitations affecting SME operators in the Soft Power sector, while also gathering empirical data to help improve laws and support measures for Thai businesses.
Discussions focused on key challenges faced by entrepreneurs, including access to funding, human resource development and intellectual property protection, as well as legal obstacles affecting business operations.
The presenters also outlined policy recommendations and proposed solutions aimed at creating a sustainable ecosystem to support the growth of Thailand’s Soft Power industry and strengthen the competitiveness of Thai SMEs in both domestic and international markets.
OSMEP said the forum also helped participants gain a better understanding of legal and policy issues related to the industry, while providing entrepreneurs with an opportunity to share feedback and real-world experiences directly with policymakers.
The agency added that the meeting strengthened cooperation between government agencies, the private sector and entrepreneurs in efforts to drive the future development of Thailand’s Soft Power industry.
