Incepted in 2007, in San Francisco, Airbnb is now a multi-billion dollar business, that reaches hammocks, yurts and tree houses in over 192 countries world-wide. Airbnb is based around people (hosts) listing any available space (spare bedrooms, lofts, stables, etc) they have as accommodation for travellers, providing a “home stay” experience for guests.
Based entirely online, they now boast 1,500,000 unique listings and have become a global leader in rental accommodation.
This month, Airbnb held a Community Meet Up in Phuket inviting all of their Superhosts (hosts who have reached a set of qualifications based on their commitment, responsiveness, Phuket Airbnb gets art lesson quality of listing and more) to participate in informative sessions.
Based on supporting, encouraging and motivating the Superhosts, the sessions included opportunities to share hosting experiences, as well as face-toface Q&A sessions with Airbnb experts.
As part of their Phuket MeetUp, Airbnb invited local art business, Oasis ed. Phuket, to facilitate a Sculpting Workshop, as an ice-breaker session and a bit of fun for the Superhosts.
Guided to create using the Airbnb Belo sign as inspiration, each and every person leaped in to create their own sculpture using air dry clay. In no time, the meeting room was transformed into a space filled with laughing, chatting and buzzing with creativity, as the participants connected both with those around them and their own pure enjoyment of being creative.
And the results? Whales, flowers, snails, a dragon and more, all proudly sporting the Airbnb Belo logo. Plus, lots of happy hosts who were thrilled to take home their creations, along with the feeling of being an important part of the Airbnb Community.
