“Navy officers are still searching every day. They start in the morning from about 8am for two to three hours, then again in the afternoon for a few hours,” said Mr Sayan.

“They are conducting the search using a helicopter,” he added.

“The search is around the coast of Phang Nga and Phuket, I can’t say exactly how far out but about 10 nautical miles,” he said.

“I cannot say when the search will end,” he added.

A B100,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the recovery of missing 27-year-old Yang Juan, who disappeared while swimming with friends in dangerous surf at Na Toei Beach in Thai Muang, Phang Nga, on Feb 24. (See story here.)

Phang Nga Governor Sitthichai Sakda announced the reward at Phang Nga Provincial Hall on Monday (Mar 5). (See story here.)

“The private sector of Phang Nga has gathered B100,000 to reward anyone who gives a clue that leads to the return of the body of the Chinese tourist back to her relatives,” Gov Sittichai said.
