Thalang Police Station reported receiving notification of the incident at 9:30pm. Officers were dispatched to a workers’ accommodation in Moo 6, Srisoonthorn, where the body of the man was discovered.
The deceased was identified only as ‘Mr Kyaw’, 46, a Myanmar national. According to police, the report was made by the Moo 6 village headman, Amnuayporn Samniang.
Police said preliminary investigations found that Mr Kyaw had been living alone in the accommodation. Coworkers told officers that he was known to drink heavily.
Patrol officers and an on-duty investigator secured the scene while a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital conducted an examination. The doctor found no signs of physical assault or struggle, and no evidence of ransacking inside the room.
The forensic examination concluded that Mr Kyaw died by hanging, with the cause of death identified as asphyxiation. The doctor estimated that death had occurred approximately eight hours before the body was discovered. No additional injuries were found.
Police noted that neither the employer nor the deceased’s relatives raised any concerns regarding the circumstances of the death.
Thalang Police Superintendent Pol Col Nikorn Chuthong confirmed the findings and said further investigation will continue as part of standard procedure.
Authorities have not indicated any suspicion of foul play at this stage.
