Tha Chatchai Police Station reported that the incident occurred at about 9:40am, inside a cream-coloured 60-foot Azimut yacht docked at the marina. Police reported they were called to the marina at about 9:50am.

The injured man was identified as ‘Win Mo’, a Myanmar national. He suffered stab wounds to the abdomen and was found receiving first aid from Mai Khao paramedics when officers arrived at the scene. He was later transported to Thalang Hospital. His condition was described as serious.

The suspect, identified as Myat Phone Kyaw, also a Myanmar national, was found waiting at the boat berth and surrendered to police without resistance.

According to an initial police investigation, the suspect told officers that he and the victim had been drinking alcohol together on the boat prior to the incident. An argument reportedly broke out, escalating into a physical altercation during which a knife was used.

Patrol officers, investigators and a duty inquiry officer were dispatched to the marina following a report from a concerned member of the public. No property damage was reported.

Police escorted the suspect to Tha Chatchai Police Station for further questioning and legal proceedings. Officers are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the stabbing and whether charges of attempted murder or related offences will be filed.

The case is being handled by Pol Lt Col Ronnaphoom Permpoon, Inspector (Investigation) at Tha Chatchai Police Station, under the supervision of Pol Lt Col Techin Deethong-on, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) and Acting Superintendent of the station.

Police have not released further details pending the outcome of the investigation.
