The parcels were found in Pak Tho district, Ratchaburi, by local resident Somsak Srinuansod, 63, on Friday morning (Jan 15), Thai media reported.
Mr Somsak said he stopped his vehicle to urinate around 9am. As he walked to a roadside bush, he noticed two parcels had been left there. He suspected they might contain illicit items, so he alerted the authorities.
Police, soldiers and local officials hurried to check out the discovery, between kilometre makers 82 and 83 on Rama II Road in tambon Wang Manao.
When they opened the two parcels they found each contained one package of heroin weighing 500 grammes. The drugs had an estimated street value of B3 million , the reports said. Bangkok Post
