Phuket City Police were informed of the accident at about 1am.

Police and rescue workers from the Kusoldharm foundation arrived to find a gray Toyota Vios sedan, registered in Songkhla, with heavy impact damage to its rear.  The car was parked by the left side of the exit ramp.

The body of the motorbike rider, identified so far only as ‘Mr Natthaphon’, 36, from Nakhon Sri Thammarat, was on the road beside the car. About 50 metres away was his big bike motorbike registered in Bangkok

From their initial investigation, police believe Mr Nattaphon was driving his motorbike at high speed and lost control of the motorbike, causing him to hit the back of the Toyota Vios.

Rescue workers transported Mr Nattaphon’s body to Vachira Phuket Hospital for post-mortem examination while police continue their investigation to confirm what precisely had happened to cause the accident.
