Pol Capt Thitiwat Asasingh of the Thalang Police was informed of the incident at about 8:30pm Friday night (Apr 5).
Officers and rescue workers from Srisoonthorn Municipality arrived at the scene the CSAL workers’ camp at Tha Sai, Moo 1, Srisoonthorn, to find Charisak Tanyajaroen, 32, with a gash to his head and two more cuts: one on his back and another to his left ribs.
The perpetrator, Anuwat Chanthason, was still at the scene, police noted.
From their initial investigation, police reported that the two had never argued before, especially since it was Charisak’s first day of work.
The two had argued about Anuwat’s dog chasing and biting Charisak. The argument escalated until Anuwat grabbed a piece of metal fashioned into a machete and struck Charisak several times.
Charisak was taken to Thalang Hospital for treatment of his injuries, while Anuwat was taken to Thalang Police for questioning “before proceeding with the case”, police confirmed.
