Tha Chatchai Police were called to the scene, in Soi Bo Som, Mai Khao, at about 1:10am.
Rescue workers from the Mai Khao Tambon Administrative Organisation told police that they had rushed a man with a serious knife wound to Thalang Hospital.
The victim, identified as Jirasak Damsom, 46, from Trang, had sustained severe injuries after an altercation with Suebsakun On-yen, 43, from Ranong.
Jirasak was sitting drinking with friends when Suebsakun approached them and asked them to stopping making loud noise, police reported.
The request sparked an argument, which quickly escalated, resulting in Suebsakun pulling a knife and stabbing Jirasak, police said.
According to photos of Jirasak at the hospital, he had suffered at least four stab wounds.
Suebsakun waited at the scene to surrender to police and was subsequently taken to the Tha Chatchai Police Station for further questioning, police confirmed.
