Man rescued after electrocuted, left hanging from power pole

PHUKET: Emergency responders rushed to the aid of a man who was electrocuted and left hanging from an power pole in Soi Nai Thon 3, Sakhu, earlier today (Sept 29).

The incident was reported to the Phuket Provincial Police emergency call centre via the 191  hotline at about 9:10am.

Officers from the Sakhu Police were informed, and they in turn called the Phuket branch of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA Phuket) to assist in the rescue.

At the scene, in front of a local hotel, officers found the man hanging from the electric pole, having been electrocuted by high-voltage electricity.

To prevent further danger, the PEA workers cut off the power supply before rescuers carefully brought the injured man down.

The victim was immediately rushed to Thalang Hospital for emergency medical treatment. His current condition remains undisclosed.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the electrocution.
