Pol Capt Pattaphong Yotmek of Thalang Police Station received notification of the distressing discovery at a rented house situated in Thepkrasattri Sub-district, Thalang District around 11am this monring.
Joined by Capt Pattaphong and a forensic physician from Vachira Phuket Hospital, a swift response was initiated and the officials advanced to the scene.
The individual in question, who was found to have ended his life by hanging himself from an air vent using a nylon rope, was identified as Mr Phattanaphong Supanti.
Investigations into the matter unveiled that Mr Phattanaphong had been grappling with a chronic illness, which had inflicted significant stress upon him. His wife, Miss Lawan Kopha, aged 41, came forward to provide her account, affirming the struggles her husband had been facing, the statement of which was recorded by police as part of the evidence-gathering process.
In the aftermath of the discovery, the remains of Mr Phattanaphong were entrusted to the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation. Subsequently, the body was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital to undergo a comprehensive autopsy.
