Wichit Police were informed of the accident, near the Bangchak gas station on Mueang Chaofa Rd, which joins the Prince of Songkla Phuket Campus in Kathu with Chao Fa West Rd in Wichit, at about 2:30am

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a red Mazda 3 sedan with severe damage to the front and driver’s side. Inside the vehicle, the driver was unconscious and trapped. He had suffered severe head trauma.

Rescue teams requested additional equipment from the Kusoldharm Foundation and worked for about 10 minutes to free the man from the wreckage. However, he had already succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities identified the man as Patiphat Phonhiran, a resident of Thung Song District, Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province.

His body was transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where forensic doctors will conduct a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

Relatives have been contacted to collect his remains for religious ceremonies, police said.

Officers are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident, police noted.
