Police were called to the scene, in Moo 7, Ratsada, at about 2pm.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the body of 37-year-old Myanmar national ‘Mr Moote’ lying face down ni a pool of blood.

He had suffered fatal head trauma inflicted by a bloodied axe handle found nearby.

At the scene waiting for police was Myanmar man ‘Mr Neto’, 42, who admitted to being the perpetrator and was waiting to surrender.

Neto claimed he had acted in self-defence, stating that if he had not struck the victim first, he would have been killed. Both men were reportedly in the country illegally.

Authorities have taken Neto into custody for further questioning as they continue to investigate the circumstances of the crime.

The axe was collected as evidence, and the body of Mr Moote was transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital for post-mortem examination.
