The theft was reported to Chalong Police by an unnamed security guard working at STAY Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort on Soi Suksan 2. The man stated that at approximately 7pm on Friday (Sept 22), he rode his Narathiwat-registered Honda Wave to the resort and parked it overnight. At around 4:30 am the following day (Sept 23), the guard discovered that the motorbike had vanished.

"The victim then proceeded to meet with the investigating officers at Chalong Police Station to file a complaint," reported Chalong Police today (Sept 24).

Although Chalong Police did not provide specific details about how the motorcycle was located and the suspect apprehended, the police station emphasised in the opening sentence of the report that it was done "immediately" and "in cooperation with Rawai Municipality."

The arresting team was led by Lt Col Peerasit Nuphayan, Deputy Chief of Chalong Police, and Theeraphong Thaodaeng, Deputy Mayor of Rawai.

The suspect, identified in the report as Suthiphong Uamson, a 27-year-old native of Chachoengsao province, was charged with committing a theft at night.

According to Section 335 of the Thai Criminal Code, theft at night carries a penalty of imprisonment for one to five years and a fine ranging from B20,000 to B100,000.
