Wichit Police arrested Issara Khunphochai, 55, after tracking him down to a hut in the hills behind 50 Pi Rd in Patong.
Issara was wanted for slaying fellow gardener Bunkhamphan ‘Pan’ Bunchu, 48, from Sisaket, In front of a shanty worker’s abode on Soi Thep Anusorn 4, in Moo 2, Wichit, on Tuesday night.
Mr Bunkhamphan had suffered a fatal stab wound to the neck, and another stab wound to the left shoulder.
Issara confessed to the fatal stabbing and was brought back to the scene to re-enact the crime for police yesterday (Mar 21).
Issara said that he had been drinking alcohol with Mr Bunkhamphan, but they had an argument. and a fight ensued.
Issara explained that he had grabbed a ‘lao khao’ bottle and struck Mr Bunkhamphan on the head twice, then picked up a broken piece of the bottle and stabbed him.
After completing the re-enactment yesterday, Issara was taken to Wichit Police Station and charged with murder.
