Pol Lt Col Kan Namsomrak, Chief Investigator at Chalong Police, confirmed that police were informed of the incidents last Thursday (July 4).
The first complaint was filed by a 28-year-old woman from Ranong Province. She accused her new husband of molesting the 9-year-old girl. The allegations included acts of sexual abuse against a child under 13 years old and indecent acts against a child under 13 through coercion and physical force.
The incident occurred on June 24 in Chalong. The young victim was taken to Chalong Hospital for a medical examination to gather evidence of the abuse.
The second report came from a 37-year-old woman, the grandmother of an 11-year-old girl, who also filed a complaint on July 4, alleging that the same man had molested her granddaughter. The incident took place at their residence in Chalong, causing significant harm to the child.
Following the serious allegations, officers from Chalong Police Station apprehended the suspect.
He has been charged and taken into custody, with the Phuket Provincial Court opposing his bail, police said.
