The incident occurred around 10:30pm on Tuesday (Apr 1) in front of the Kluai Nam Wa Restaurant near Saphan Hin.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Patchara Sriwises, was riding pillion on a motorcycle when a suspect on another motorcycle grabbed her black shoulder bag before speeding away.
The stolen bag contained an iPhone 14 valued at approximately B24,000, B2,000 in cash and other belongings.
Following a police complaint, officers launched an investigation and were able to track down and arrest the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jakkarin Srisong.
Jakkarin was taken into custody along with the recovered evidence and is now facing legal proceedings, Phuket City Police confirmed.
