The suspect, identified as Wutthachai Klapkhong, was apprehended at the Phuket Checkpoint after officers searched his Phuket-registered Toyota Yaris sedan.
The search uncovered 6,049 methamphetamine pills (ya bah) and 167.33 grammes of crystal methamphetamine (‘ya ice’) concealed in the engine compartment near the left wheel arch.
Wutthachai faces multiple charges, including possession and sale of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine and ice) for commercial purposes and drug use while operating a vehicle.
Police allege his activities were intended to distribute drugs to the public, violating Thai narcotics laws.
Wutthachai and the confiscated evidence were taken to Tha Chatchai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine if others were involved in the drug trafficking operation.
