Officers from Phuket City Police were called to a house in Pracha Udom Community, Soi 4/2 at about 7am after receiving a report of a man found unresponsive inside.
The deceased was identified as Apisit Amnajkhrut, 30, originally from Nakhon Sri Thammarat.
Police reported that the man was found lying on his right side on the floor of his room. A nylon rope was tied around his neck, and an opening was noted in the ceiling above the area where the body was discovered.
His relatives told officers that the man had previously attempted suicide by hanging.

The family did not raise any doubts about the circumstances of the death. The body has been transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further examination.
Police said they were continuing their investigation, but have not yet given any reason for the man’s suicide.
