Acting on a tip-off, officers surrounded the hut, near Baan Bang Wan Waterfall in Moo 1, Kamala, at about 4pm.
The officers, fully armed, then moved in and arrested the kingpin ‘Bang Yim’, whose real name was reported only as ‘Mr Jessadaporn’.
Inside the hut, police discovered nearly half a kilogram of ya ice packaged in eight clear plastic bags.
Also seized were a digital scale and packaging materials, along with a Krico .22-calibre rifle fitted with a scope and 20 bullets. Two modified BB guns were also seized in the raid. All items were seized as evidence.
During questioning, Jessadaporn confessed to owning the drugs and weapons, reported police.
He admitted to his most recent purchase of 400 grammes of ya ice from a Thai man for B100,000, which he had been distributing in Kamala.
The rifle and ammunition, Jessadaporn said, were bought from a local farmer so he could intimidate locals and protect his operation, police reported.
Also arrested during the raid were 30-year-old Malaysian national Muhammad Helmi Bin Jasni and a man identified only as Prateep Ayu.
The men were found in possession of 1.3g of ya ice and drug paraphernalia.
All three suspects were taken to Kamala Police Station, where they were charged with illegal possession and distribution of ya ice, possession of illegal firearms and drug use, police confirmed.
