The footage, just 14 seconds long, was posted by the popular Facebook page ‘Hod Jang, Phuket’ and shows the tourist relieving himself in Soi Saensabai ‒ an area bustling with pedestrians.

The post, which includes the caption “If you encounter this #Bob, a quality tourist, Tourist Police, please check the bill. Location: Soi Saensabai, Patong, Phuket!”, quickly drew attention online.

Social media users were quick to condemn the behaviour. Comments ranged from sarcastic remarks to calls for better law enforcement. “Cheap tourism brings cheap tourists,” one user wrote. Others questioned whether the man was wearing a diaper or simply too intoxicated to care. “5 baht, 10 baht, these guys won’t even pay for a bathroom,” another person commented.

According to a woman identified only as ‘Ms B’, who appears in the video and spoke with the tourist, the man had initially been walking with a group of six friends. On his return to the hotel alone, he reportedly began urinating in multiple locations before reaching her shopfront.

“I told him to use a bathroom, not to pee all over the place,” Ms B recounted. “He said he couldn’t hold it in. I told him that’s his problem ‒ it’s not an excuse to behave like this in public.”

Ms B added that the man appeared to be intoxicated and that one of his friends later returned to apologise and escorted him back to their accommodation. “If he’s sick and can’t control himself, he should see a doctor. If he’s drunk, he should still find a toilet,” she said.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the incident, but many online are urging the Tourist Police to identify and take appropriate action against the individual.
