The Darth Vader statue will stand in place of a statue of Vladimir Lenin.

Mr Milov’s statue is not just a piece of art, he built a router into Vader’s head which deliverd WiFi to the statues surrounding area.

Mr Milov created the Vader statue to replace a statue of Vladimir Lenin which stood at the factory before.

The statue of Lenin was scheduled for demolition in accordance with a new Ukrainian law on de-Communisation which states that all landmarks and geographic names dedicated to Lenin and other Communist figures be eradicated.

Workers at the Odessa factory, however, requested that the statue be redesigned, rather than demolished. According to rumours, NASA gave some materials to strengthen the old and dilapidated monument.

“Everything flows, everything changes, old figures give way to new ones and so the world turns,” the factory manager said.

Though Lenin is a symbol of Soviet past in Russia most of the cities and towns in ex-Soviet countries still have his statues or at least streets named after him.
