UPDATE - To help rebuild - Project Artisan
Pol Lt Kanlaysuda Kaewka of the Cherng Talay Police was informed of the fire, at the Project Artisan restaurant on the road leading to Layan Beach (Route 4018) in Moo 6, Cherng Talay, at 1:30pm.
Police and firefighters from Cherng Talay Tambon Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor) and two private water trucks arrived to find the roof insulation of the building ablaze. The insulation, still burning, fell onto fittings and tables below, setting them alight.
By that time, patrons had already fled the restaurant.
Firefighters took about 30 minutes to douse the blaze.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
Forensics Police arrived to investigate the cause of the fire, though their initial suspicions allude to heat and sparks from the pizza oven entered an air vent, setting the roof insulation alight.
