Officers from Phuket City Police Station arrested Sirawich Naknaka, 24, at 7pm near Anuphas Phuketkan Rd following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking and nitrous oxide sales in Phuket Town.
Police first apprehended Sirawich on the roadside before conducting a search of a room on the sixth floor of The Wide Condotel on Sakdidet Rd.
During the search, officers seized 31 cylinders of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, along with 0.58 grammes of heroin and 1.09g of cocaine.
Sirawich was charged with selling modern medicine without a licence in relation to the nitrous oxide, possession of a Category 1 narcotic (heroin) for personal use without permission, possession of a Category 2 narcotic (cocaine) for personal use without permission, and illegal consumption of both heroin and cocaine.
He was handed over to investigators at Phuket City Police Station for further legal proceedings.
In other drug arrests, Thalang District officials arrested a suspect they identified by only as ‘Mr B’ on a public road in Soi Wat Tha Sak, Moo 4, Pa Khlok at 4pm on Friday (Feb 19).
Officers seized 166 methamphetamine pills (ya bah). The suspect was charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) for sale without permission and illegal consumption of methamphetamine. He was handed over to investigators at Thalang Police Station for further legal action.
In a separate operation at 11pm on Friday, Kathu District officials arrested two suspects in Patong after they were found with 27 boxes of e-cigarettes and e-liquid.
The suspects were charged with selling or possessing untaxed or restricted goods that had not gone through proper customs procedures and were handed over to investigators at Patong Police Station.
Officials said the operations were conducted in line with Ministry of Interior policy to suppress influential figures, gambling, vice, drug trafficking and other crimes in order to maintain public safety and order across Phuket.
