Officials from the Mueang Phuket District Office carried out the inspection, at the Nay Restaurant on Poonphol Rd, following reports posted on the Facebook page ‘Sudjat Palat Bok’.

The operation was led by Deputy District Chiefs Akkra Suwattikul, Hiran Heedchan and Thiti Bunyasathien, supported by security personnel from the Volunteer Defense Corps (OrSor).

Authorities said the inspection was launched in response to public concerns, with the aim of maintaining peace and order and ensuring compliance with laws governing entertainment venues.

During the raid, officers arrested a 47-year-old man who identified himself as the venue manager. His name was not disclosed. Four items were seized as evidence, though officials did not specify what they were.

The man faces charges of operating a service establishment without permission under the Service Establishments Act B.E. 2509 and its amendments. The offence relates to running a venue that sells food and alcohol and provides entertainment beyond the legally permitted closing time of midnight without authorisation.

Officials confirmed that legal proceedings are underway.
