Laguna Phuket’s Canal Shopping Village is transformed into a traditional Thai flea market each Thursday from 3.00-8.00pm, creating a fascinating experience for hotel guests and local residents alike.
Visitors can browse more than 50 stalls selling a variety of local arts and crafts, clothes, souvenirs, snacks and refreshments.
Vendors are registered under OTOP, the provincial government scheme that encourages local villagers to earn livelihoods through traditional arts and crafts – so visitors can enjoy a traditional Thai experience while providing income to help local communities preserve their skills and livelihoods.
The market also features Thai music and entertainment by local children.
