The incident occurred around 4am on Rat U-Thit 200 Pi Rd, where a 38-year-old Turkish tourist reported to local police that he had been targeted by a pickpocket. He told officers at Patong Police Station that B4,000 had been stolen from him.
Following an investigation, officers located and searched the suspect. A prompt search found the stolen B4,000 hidden in the left side of the suspect’s bra.
The 42-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged with nighttime theft, Patong Police confirmed.
She and the recovered money were brought to Patong Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Police have not released the names of the individuals involved.
