Kathu Police confirmed the incident occurred at 3:54am in front of the hotel, located on Soi Thida in Moo 1, Kathu, near the Andamanda Phuket waterpark.
The report was filed by a hotel employee, Ms Nam Kasemsuk.
The victim, named by police as Sofiya Paskul, told officers she had taken a motorcycle app ride from Patong to the hotel.
When she arrived at the entrance and reached into her wallet to pay, the driver allegedly snatched the wallet, removed B1,100 in cash, and sped off.
Ms Paskul was not injured in the incident.
Kathu Police Chief Pol Col Prathuang Phonmana said officers are gathering CCTV footage and pursuing the suspect.
The case is being handled by Investigating Officer Pol Lt Col Wattanat Bamrungthin.
Police urge anyone with information that may assist in identifying the suspect to contact Kathu Police Station.
