UPDATE: See ’Police arrest suspect for acid attack’
Police were called to the scene, in front of a pharmacy opposite the well-known Ali’s BBQ restaurant, at about 11:20pm.
Chalong Police Chief Pol Col Ekkarat Plaiduang was informed of the incident and officers were dispatched to investigate.
The woman, Ms Nattaya, was rushed to hospital.
Ms Nattaya explained to police that an ex-girlfriend had approached her outside the pharmacy and doused her face with a liquid that started burning her skin. The ex-girlfriend then fled. A yellow plastic bottle was found at the scene.
Police have yet to give further details on the incident.
