The video, shared widely on a LINE group under the title ‘Kamala Beach Racing’, showed the tourist’s motorcycle becoming stuck in the sand. The clip reached local authorities, who promptly launched an investigation.
At 4:30pm, Pol Lt Nakorn Chatiphai, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Kamala Police Station, was alerted to the incident.
Just 15 minutes later, Kamala Police Chief Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang directed officers to track down the individual for questioning.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Amirah Midhat from Israel, was brought in for questioning at Kamala Police Station.
Midhat admitted to riding on the beach, explaining that he was unaware it was illegal in Thailand, as no visible signs warned against it.
He noted that doing so was legal in his home country.
After reviewing Midhat’s international driver’s licence and confirming his willingness to cooperate, police issued a fine of B5,000 for causing a public nuisance.
