A total of 11 players out of the 23 selected reported for training, with the remaining players set to join the camp today, reports the Bangkok Post.
“Though we only have a limited time at our disposal, we will try to get the team ready for the game with Japan,” said Ishii, who himself is Japanese.
“Japan are a world-class team and I want the Thai players to avail this opportunity and showcase their talents to the world.
“I only want the players to perform to the best of their ability, fight from the word go to the end of the match. I want them to play with pride.
“We selected a good squad and it’s a pity that some of the top players had to pull out because of injuries, but it’s not a big problem.”
The match will be played at Tokyo National Stadium at 12 noon (Thai time) on Monday (Jan 1, 2024) and will televised live by Thai Rath TV (32) and Changsuek Official channel on YouTube.
