Capt Pansak Chaithong of Chalong Police arrested 25-year-old Iranian tourist Sabzvari Sahel, who had shoplifted while at the Tesco Lotus supermarket with her boyfriend just after 7:30pm yesterday (Mar 18).
Sahel had walked out of the supermarket without paying for one Olay brand wrinkle cream priced B879, one L’Oreal wrinkle cream priced B639, two L’Oreal eye wrinkle creams priced B799 each (together B1,598), one L’Oreal face cream priced B719, another L’Oreal face cream priced B759.
All of the stolen goods totalled B4,594.
“Sahel, at the supermarket with her boyfriend, picked up the goods and placed them into a plastic bag before carrying it through an unattended cashier counter without paying,” said Capt Pansak.
“She had passed through the payment point about 20 metres when a security guard checked her for a bill. When the guard discovered she did not have a bill, he quickly informed staff.”
Police officers were then called in to bring the woman to Chalong Police Station where they charged her with theft at nighttime, confirmed Capt Pansak.
