During his visit, Gen Chalermkiet gave thanks to officers involved in protecting the police station before heading out for a meeting to discuss the investigation.
Later, Phuket Police Chief, Maj Gen Pachara Boonyasit led Gen Chalermkiet and a team to Jui Tui Shrine to partake in the Vegetarain Festival.
Meanwhile, Thalang police have today requested arrest warrants for a number of suspects on charges of instigating unrest and burning and destroying state assets during the riot.
The warrants, sought by Gen Patchara, were based on snapshots and video clips taken by police during the unrest, as well as footage from closed-circuit cameras and testimony of eye witnesses.
Most of the suspects are young men, who allegedly tried to destroy the police station, torched cars and hurt police officers.
