Nikhom Suksawat, an official from Panya Farm Co Ltd Crocodile Capture Training and Academic Center in Nakhon Pathom has been tasked with leading the capture operation.

Yesterday evening, officials from multiple agencies, including the Phuket Provincial Fisheries, Pa Khlok Municipality, and Panya Farm, converged at the water source where the crocodile was spotted.

The reptile was seen intermittently floating in the middle of the water, with its eyes reflecting light from the officials’ flashlights.

The capture operation was planned to commence after dark. Officials intended to use a rowboat to drive the crocodile to shore before employing netting techniques.

The operation began at 7:10pm and continued for two hours until a significant development altered the course of action.

Initial assessments identified the crocodile as a freshwater species, but closer inspection revealed it to be a saltwater crocodile, approximately 1.5 metres in length.

This led to the croc hunters to make a change in strategy, as saltwater crocodiles typically do not come ashore. The revised plan involved chasing and attempting to net the crocodile throughout the night.

As of this morning, officials continue their efforts, employing nets to capture the crocodile, which has been seen surfacing at various times. The search for the elusive reptile remains ongoing, with authorities determined to ensure the safety of the local community and the golf course’s patrons.
