Patong Police confirmed they were notified at 8:52pm that a foreign national had died at Patong Hospital, and arrived shortly after being informed.
Police were told that before the incident, the man (name withheld) had been drinking with friends at Cafe del Mar in Kamala. He later suffered seizures, after which Kamala officials coordinated emergency assistance and arranged for him to be transported to Patong Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination was conducted by Dr Warichaphon Wangsuk at Patong Hospital in accordance with legal procedures. Police confirmed there is no suspicion of foul play and that no property was missing.
Officers are now in the process of contacting the deceased’s relatives. The case has been recorded as a post-mortem examination case, police noted.
