Lifeguards spotted the python, more than three metres long, at about 1:10pm and notified police.

Using five to six jet skis, lifeguards ventured out to safely capture the over three-metre-long python and bring it back to shore.

The python, believed to have entered the sea via a nearby canal, was first seen diving mid-sea by beach patrol officers, who immediately alerted beachgoers to exit the water as a safety measure.

Once secured, the snake was taken to the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary in Thalang for observation and care before being released back into its natural habitat.

Pythons are a protected species in Thailand under the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act.
