Phuket City Police reported receiving the alarm at 6:02pm, with the blaze occurring at a home in Natthakamol Village, Soi 3 on Damrong Rd in Talat Yai.

Police Lt Kritrat Jindayoi, the investigating officer on duty, said the alert came via the Phuket Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Centre (Region 18), who dispatched fire crews to the scene.

The daughter of the homeowner, Sirathee Chatubon, told police she had been at work at the time of the incident and no one was inside the house when the fire started. She returned home to find flames consuming the bedroom and immediately called for help.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, though damage to the property is still being assessed.

Due to lingering heat at the scene, police were unable to conduct a detailed inspection immediately. Forensic officers had been called to determine the cause of the fire, police confirmed.
